Volunteer with Us

Giving to Your Community
for direct Impact

There are many forms of volunteering. These include single day corporate events, predefined student work study, and individual volunteering to name a few. The Bay Ridge Center can accommodate all of these forms of volunteering and many more.

All of our volunteer opportunities can be customized to your desire. Our opportunities include:

  • Onsite or Virtual Classes. The Center has been honored to have so many volunteers help us expand the number of classes as well as diversity of class types. Our classes range from Ageism to Zoom. Bring your passions and we’ll collaborate to develop a meaningful class for you and our members.

  • Telephone Reassurance. Even before the Pandemic there were members of the Bay Ridge community who were lonely. This program has you call our most frail members to check in, listen, and help them remember that they are not alone.

  • Special Events. Before the Pandemic we had monthly parties for our members. We expect to resume them shortly. When we do, it’s helpful to have volunteers serve meals, encourage the members to dance, and help serve the desserts.

  • Administrative. We have several tasks related to communicating with our members and community, researching and writing grants, and monitoring our classes.

  • Home Delivery Meal Preparation (Cold Packing assembly) Every day, our team delivers 650 meals to homebound community members. Our kitchen staff prepare the hot meals and our drivers prepare the Cold Packs. However, both of these tasks require more help than we normally have.

Give us a call (718.748.0650 ext. 15) or email us and let’s collaborate to determine what is the form of impact you can make. Thank you!
